Fox and Hare
With naked feet on sacred ground we dance to beating drums,
With arms raised high and voices loud a spiral we've become,
To draw the power from the Earth and send it out again,
To work the magic of our hearts and heal a wounded land.
For on this ground once witches burned and wise old women hung,
To wash these blood stains from the ground our magic has begun,
For 'tis not vengeance that we seek nor malice in our hand,
Only free our sisters dear to walk again the land.
Hands in the air, feet to the ground
Voices make a sacred sound
Drums and fire to fill the air
Tonight a truce 'tween Fox and Hare.
For us to heal we must forgive the damage that's been done
By those whose hearts were gripped in fear if we are to be one,
For never while upon this Earth should any walk alone
And are we all not children dear of Maiden Mother Crone?
So come Christian, Muslim Atheist and join us in our dance
And celebrate our common lives while there is still a chance
For Hate and Fear wait not their turn to crush us in their hand
And only love and tenderness can save a dying land.
Hands in the air, feet to the ground
Voices make a sacred sound
Drums and fire to fill the air
Tonight a truce 'tween Fox and Hare.
