Hallowed Tree
Hollowed out this tree,
Trapped, between parched bark
and the bounds of the sky,
Confined, to this endless dark.
Blooms have all but wilted,
Shunned from the sun, they fell,
Petals line the eternal grave
In this hallowed tree I dwell.
Branches now tangled corpses,
Bleeding out the life that's gone,
Standing, keeping me captive
Here, remaining Death's pawn.
And the poison climbs the roots,
Trickles into my aching heart,
Grasping for the purity of youth,
In the bark, I can't depart.
** This will be used in "Fallen Angel" and was written with that in mind
