This is perfectly, exquisitely harrowing. Imagine a beautiful young woman, a singer/songwriter, rough around the edges now, writing this when she hits the bottom of the barrel of drug abuse. Great, stark images - Death, poison, corpses. This will be perfect when that scene comes. She finishes the song, blinks, and collapses on stage.
