haven't tossed my cookies over it yet.
The nearest thing to a pattern with it is, if I come into the site through a link, like the one that was in the e-mail you sent recently, it keeps throwing me out. When I use google to get the site up and get in, no problem.
I am using a university computer in my office, and these are sometimes not allowed to keep cookies.
