Hi! Thanks for the comments. I'd like to address the issue of so-called minority communities in the United States as this is indirectly related to Africa because there are many African Americans in the U.S. I think one of the problems is the methodology of "divide and conquer" that is the mainstay of the west.
One of the ways communities of so-called color are divided is due to the aspirations of consumerism, and also what I like to call slave-brain syndrome ( feelings that whites are superior or that one is a victim of these so-called whites). To a large extent communities of color deserve their oppression because instead of taking a stick and beating the crap out of the enemy they seek to be like the one that oppresses them.
They compete against each other for crumbs-jobs, material possessions, skin color and so forth. They are in effect socio-politically asleep.
I come from a Spanish/Cuban background. And although I look like any other white guy (many of us do), I do not adhere to the cynical traditions of my homeland in the U.S. I do not ignore the fact of all the abuse against people of color, many are kindred spirits of mine, and some are even family.
I was not raised Anglican . I was raised Hispanic. So I tend to think in a socialistic way ( the man is worht more than the money). The mere mention of socialism to the TV parroting imbecile American is enough to send them into a frenzy. They'll tell you "I saw it on TV."
Anyway, my advice is simple. Beware of the enemy and be prepared to hammer him into the dust on the
slightest provocation.
I have a nice aluminum baseball bat just in case I come across some abuse and have an opportunity to persuade the victimizer. I have never had to use it yet, but I did slap the crap out of a guy that was insulting a black woman once.
Instead of always complaining. Use a more persuasive approach. Heheh!
I welcome you to read my fictional story: Latino Thor.
I am not as advanced as you are in the writing department, but I have a lot to say.
