I will be running a participation challenge. The challenge will include comments, little cafe comments not included; challenge entries; and submissions. The following is a basic overview of the rules and how this challenge will be judged.
5-1000 points per comment. Up to 5,000 per poem submitted and up to 15,000 per story. Scale range for comments is basically 5 for a 'good job' to 1000 for the ultra break down on prose. And for writing, length, quality and purpose is also in consideration as to point value. 55, Limerick, 100, CFPC contests (if ran) will be worth 2500 points. TOTM, 1000 W/C and EM:WE entries will be worth 5000 points.
** THESE POINTS ARE NOT BANKABLE POINTS. THEY ARE FOR THIS CONTEST ONLY.
Comments will be judged on this basis:
1.) Is it a detailed critique or is it a ‘good job’ type comment? Poems are worth less points than prose due to time involvement.
2.) Do you go over grammatical, content, development, voice and any other aspects of writing to help author improve?
3.) What is your opinion of the piece itself? Giving reasons and supporting quotation as to why you feel this way.
4.) Going above and beyond in delivery and consideration of the critique.
This will run for one month. Scores will be gathered and retained by staff. Staff may be included in the contest, but cannot judge their own comments.
There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements. 50,000 points to the first, 30,000 for the second, as well as 15,000 to the 3rd place winners. Grand prize will also be the featured member in storiesmania newsletter. 2nd and 3rd place winners will share a featured newsletter.
You must register on this thread by posting your participation. Contest will begin November 1st and will run for the entire month, beginning 12 am Pacific (California time) on November 1st and ending 11:59pm November 30th.

I think I'd like to join as well. Just like stated before- anyone who is a judge can enter as well - for they will not be judging their own comments/pieces.
