I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

Hello, my name is Yum Yum the Sushi Queen and since I know you are going to ask, I will just tell you right now, I won't allow you to eat me! My people have to wear air fresheners on them at all times. This is because they are able to rot. If all of my people rot, and we don't do anything about it, my kingdom will smell so bad! So, wear a nice scent and the problem will be solved.

My people don't look much like each other. Some are eel rolls, some are California rolls, cucumber, crab, shrimp, Jerry Garcia rolls, where should I stop! My least favorites are the octopus and the salmon though. This is because they are horrible workers (they are always worrying about how they smell!)

I myself am beautiful, with wazzabi as my eyes, the finest seaweed in all of the land as my clothes, and white rice as my body. I protect my people from hungry eaters. I teach them how to make themselves brown and smell bad, so nobody will want to eat them. I am the best at this. I don't have to worry about anybody eating me! Besides, my royal servants would jump in front of me, so they get eaten, and I have a chance to run away. I have people who idolize me, they do my laundry and all of my other chores around my sushi palace. This is because my sushi people love me. They'd do anything for me.

Since I am still young, I have to go to school. It's such a drag! I have my servants walkie-talkie me the answers on tests, and they do my homework. There are monuments of fabulous me all over the kingdom. It's great to be the ruler of your own kingdom! You should try it one day, just not my kingdom! They'd be afraid of you. So, as a reminder, the next time you see sushi at a restaurant, don't eat it!!!!!!!

Re: I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

This sounds like some kind of weird Japanese anime. I can't even tell if you actually plan on continuing this, or if you were just hungry. Either way, I can see it being pretty funny. Nice placement with the faces too. If you kept it rolling, I'd keep reading.

Re: I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

Ok well this is different I'll give it that. No serious I really liked this one and you captured the psyche of the sushi very well.....Omg didi I just write that about sushi...OK.
Well my point is I really like how much fun you had with the whole personification with the sushi and all, she's a real character and quite a little Miss chatterbox, I think the kids will like her a lot, she is fun, daring and exciting. I think it is fun to muse at what it would actually be like to be sushi with a brain which I think you've done very well.

Thumbs up Re: I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

This is pretty funny. I'm vegetarian, but i still find it really funny. Good Job. Try making some more. Also your smilies were in great places, which added in a great effect. Good job!
My review is wrong and i do not know how to change it, sorry.

Pretty good job. It gives the readers a vivid image of these "sushi people" and what they look like. I really appreciated all the elaboration and descriptions. Keep up the great work.

Re: I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

Even if this is a childrens book, storyline, whatever...this is no way to start off a piece of writing. Depending on the age you reaching out. After really started the story. Just had to make this comment with the first "Hello, my name is Yum Yum..." Children are smart enough to read a story that starts out a bit different. And while I'm thinking about it the title...little weird, not very Title-ish.

Oh and the smilie faces. Why would you put those in a story? What gave you the idea that would be okay. I'm sorry if I'm being to harsh...but really...?

Wow...This piece basically is dissing the intelligence of children. Are you saying they can't read anything more than a sushi living world? Thats as far as their mind span will take them.

I'm sorry...I'm being mean but I just don't understand what was going through your mind when you wrote this.

I overall like the story although most would consider it highly irregular. One thing though: I love the title, don't EVER change the title. It is great.

Re: I Am Yum Yum the Sushi Queen

It was interesting, creative and different. Good job writting out of the norm. However I am a frequent sushi eater and have never heard and Jerry Garcia rolls. It might just be a local thing, I would chose to leave it out if I were you.

This is light and silly, but with that title I am not expecting Don Quixote. I do have a problem with the above two contradictory statements. Do her people stink (protective coloration) or not?

Very cute story, and i think one of the most imaginative ideas for characters. Isn't it spelled "wassabi" tho?
