I'd know how to make them mind.

I'd wrap them in scotch tape
and they'd learned to behave.

So it's not my hump or my tooth or my ears
that make me so mad, you ask. What can it be?

Right in front of your eyes, flat dab
in the middle of my face lives my problem

A pimple so red and angry that

even a sweater won't cover and
it hurts too much to stand on my head and
scotch tape makes everyone ask what's wrong

I wish I had a hump instead

When I first saw your name, I thought, damn! the editors have found me hiding out in the children's playground and are going to make me pack up my toys and leave.

I'm trying to encourage my granddaughter to write - she's actually pretty good. In an email earlier, she complained about a pimple on her nose. Being the smart ass I am, I told her, "It could be worse. You could have a hump on your back."
