The Night Piper

Night Piper, Night Piper, plays for the moon.
Toward the night sky, he's fluting a tune.
To make Luna wake up, and rise up soon;
not to come late, but to be a boon.

Night Piper, Night Piper, and his black cat
From the roof watch for moonrise, in duet.
And if Moon lingers, they'll use a fishnet,
to pull it sky high, in its right place set.

This is a children poem I wrote quite some time ago... and then forget about it completely. Now, I was in need for comic scenario, and this just showed up. Well, comic is done, and have fine success, but I thought it would be shame just to leave the poem, so here it is.

And for those, interested in comic, here’s links:

Re: The Night Piper

Way to go, Girl. After all that work... your masterpiece.

It has been enjoyable to watch you develop this poem and see the artwork that accompanies it. You've come a long way, and tossed around so many ideas that you've probably forgotten a few of them. In the end, you have this nice little bit to tell of, and compliment your comic strip.

I'm glad to see you didn't become discouraged with the whole "trial and error" process. Sometimes it's the only way to get the job done.

I hope to see you writing/posting more in the near future. Maybe it's time to dust off those other two pieces you have sitting in the Revisions Bin, eh?

Now let's see what the rest of StoriesMania has to say/suggest in regard to The Night Piper. You did say you wanted to get more input, right? Well, that's what we're here for...

Man, I love these fairy-tale like entries. There's just something captivating about them. I thoroughly enjoyedd reading this entry, a short piece on a mystical view point. The drawing was a nice touch, it's lovely. It kind of reminds me of some Ruth Bartlett art I admire for its simpilicty and goodness.

Anyway, this is a good piece to start you off. Good job.

Re: The Night Piper

Rakkasan, I must say, without you this poem wouldn’t hardly show up at all...I owe all my gratitude to my editor. If I polished it, you gave the sand paper necessary.
I thanked you already, but still, thanks again. As I said once, this is silly little poem, but it’s quite dear to me, so I’m glad we succeeded and post it after all. Maybe, once, we'll run true the works in RB and see what it can be done of them, too...all tough, some things are best left asleep, maybe.
When you have the time for a story promised, contact, you know how to find me

Peppy, thank you very much ...I appreciate your opinion, as always. I’m glad you like this one.

Re: The Night Piper

Nice. This is a perfect little gem, very effective children's entry. Had a very calming, soothing effect on me, and I NEED calming, soothing. Good job.
