In the dead of night,
when a faceless creature thumps, thumps on my door... In the dead of night, when fierce thunderstorms rip through my roof with huge claws... In the dead of night, when giant spiders crawl through my floor with a roar... In the dead of night, when red-eyed witches snarl, hiss, giggle and squall... In the dead of night, when long tongued aliens, melt my roof and my walls... In the dead of night, when hideous ghosts drift in and out of my body with a "Wwooaaa....." In the dead of night, when howling werewolves crave for my brains served with pickled eyeballs... In the dead of night, when headless zombies break through my window and smash through my door, I will NOT be afraid! I will close my eyes and sleep peacefully, contentedly, snugly till dawn because.... because..... because..... because..... I'm a hideous troll my name is Ogg, I am seven years old and ten feet tall, I have one huge wobbly red eye that squirts green muck and four small hidden eyes that eat small things, with bright red wings, I have three and a half webbed like feet, three hundred and sixty five long, sharp, 'mucousy' teeth, green hairy, scaly, smelly skin and a terrifying roar that is so piercing that it can make your ears bleed G R R R O O W W L L L!!! Beware of Me!

Re: In the Dead of Night (For Children Who Cannot Sleep...)
Ideally, this would go under 'Children's Fiction' but since there is no such category, I think it will be comfortable in the Narrative/General Group.

Thanks for your feedback Tranquilitysin. Try 'singing' it; it would be just as effective!
