In my garden I've a friend
It's a magic flower
He wasn't like this yesterday
He's grown with every hour

His round, brown face was very small
He had short, golden hair
One day I can plainly see him
The next, he'd shot up there!

"Please wait for me to catch you up
I'm only three feet high
If you carry on to grow and grow
You will touch the sky

I won't be able to play with you
Until I'm ten feet tall
Or will you come back and play with me
Down here, stay here, stay small."

nice poem. Too kiddish for a 10 year old like me, but perfect for the age of 4-7. I will read this poem to my cuzzin

I do like the poem tho, I imagine it would be quite a good one to tell to children. (hence, in the Children & Youth Poetry I guess). It has a really nice flow and feel to it.

one nephw who got me to write initially is now too old....this is one of the poems in my book of verses i hopeto get published one day
