Brothers
There once were two brothers
who lived with their mother.
One said, "Do this." Other said, "Do that."
and soon the two would fight like cats.
The disparity tween the two was much
to the point that when they ate lunch,
One liked it cold. Other liked it hot,
and forthwith they then fought.
Infinitesimal was their common ground
to the point that when they loved Hound,
One liked to rub. Other liked to pat,
and forthwith they, bickering, sat.
Each purported that he was nice,
not the one with all the vice.
One stood his place. Other sat unmoved,
and nothing by each brother was proved.
Then one day they went outside
for an equestrian excursion they vied.
One said, "Let's ride." Other said, "Let's walk."
and so to each other neither would talk.
One and Other's Mother grew tired
of hearing their arguments being fired.
To One she said, "Do Other." To Other she said, "Do One."
and so to unity she brought her sons.
At least that's what we hope . . .
. . . nope!
The "commensurate" boys
now played with their toys.
One said, "That's mine!" Other said, "Don't whine."
and now did they uncombine.
Poor One and Other's Mother,she
knew not what to do, but seethe.
One said, "Uh-oh!" Other said, "We'll be good."
and she received aggrandizement in her motherhood.
Author's Note:
My little brother had to learn some really big words!!! So I made up this poem to help him remember their meanings. The vocabulary words are in italics.
