Christmas Conundrum
" Daaaaad....................... ..........? "
" I know you've always told me dad
There's just
one Santa Clause.
And everything you've told me dad
I do believe of course. "
" It's just that while out in the town
Today with mam I saw,
Not just
one Santa Clause. No sir !
I counted TWENTY-FOUR ! "
" I saw
one on a skateboard,
And
two driving cars.
There were
four in McDonalds,
That's
seven so far ! "
" I saw
one Santa cycling,
One juggling three balls.
There were
two riding scooters,
What's
seven plus
four ? "
" And guess what ?
THERE WERE MORE ! "
" I saw
five Santas jogging,
And
three all in pink.
There was
one in a police car,
That's
twenty I think ? "
" Oh and
two rollerblading,
One rattling a tin.
Plus a really fat Santa
Asleep in a bin."
"So"
" One, plus two, plus three is seven.
Add four more, that makes eleven.
Add on nine, plus a couple more
How many Santas ? TWENTY-FOUR ! "
" And though I'm really muddled now
My mind's all wizz and tizz.
I keep on yelling to myself
ONE SANTA'S ALL THERE IS ! "
" I asked mam why, she cried
'Ask dad'
So how come dad in town,
One Santa Clause, plus twenty-three,
Were wandering around ? "

That's very kind indeed. So I'm a poet am I ? That's what they call those mad people that try and convey a message in a few words. Well I do !

Re: Christmas Conundrum
i saw this the first time yesterday of wonder and i didnt say anything because everyone else already say all that i had to say about it but i came back today just to read it again. its so cute it really reminds me of my little sisters when they were just a few years younger. they always seemed to ask me ? like that but how come i saw (whatever the case was). anyway i think i should read more in this sections. i never really checked it out before. nice work and i cant wait to see some of you other stuff.

Re: Christmas Conundrum
This is so sweet! Is it based on a real event? If so what did you answer? If not, still a cute poem, that many dads can probably relate too.

Many thanks for the comments. And yes, I suppose the poem did arise from personal experience as my brother once asked just such a question many years ago.

Re: Christmas Conundrum
This.... is so wrong XD this is probably the most devious piece of literature intended for children that I've ever read. Well done, shame on you, and LOLOL!!
