Re: The Button Girl
It's kind of creepy to me. I got a shiver as I read it.
Other than that, it was good... if not great.

Re: The Button Girl
Hi...sorry for late reply.
Girl is probably very small,or the shoe is very big...take your pick. And as to OCD,if you want to look things that way,its fine by me...but,I really don't know why I write it like that.Only, since I was little,I have one picture of a girl in my head...a little girl, with long hair in pigtails, dressed in white long socks, black shiny shoes with belt, and red dress with many, many buttons on it.I use to dream her quite a lot,and sometimes, she would have buttons instead of her eyes, too (I later read "Coraline" by Neil Gaiman and realise that I'm,obviously, not only one with that nightmare).I left out eyes-buttons in this poem, cause didn't want to be compared...on the other hand,I left her sewing, which she frequently did in my dreams. Some shrink would probably have some fun with this, but things are what they are...and I'm quite fond of that character now...we all have them, don't we?Not "muses",but the other ones, the darker side...creative demons,if you like, that keep us going, when nothing else does. She's one of mine, for sure. This is a small poem to talk like this about it,and I wanted to be for kids.It can still be,I believe, cause kids see things different eyes. Some of them may like her, some maybe won't.But somehow,I imagine, she would not frighten them, she is creepy only to adults...I think (and hope) that kids would see her other way.

Re: The Button Girl
At first it reminded me of the Old Woman that Lived in a Shoe. It makes me wonder why the girl did that. Well, she had something to do anyway. lol.

Re: The Button Girl
This definitely has "classic fairy tale" written all over it. It sounds like something you may have read when you were younger.
My only nit when reading it: "dew" and "sew" don't rhyme. (Ducks flying chairs) It just broke up the flow for me. But it did keep if from being sing-songy, so... Nothing major. Very nice!
