Re: Batman: 111 Starlet Ave.
I look forward to seeing this flushed out a bit more though I must say, as is, I was impressed. You have some incredible images in there (perhaps it is true, poets have a natural knack for prose and painting those images). I would have liked to have seen more of the characters from the beginning pop in throughout, as they played on stage, commentary on the music maybe? Anyhow. Well done, good spin on an old tale!

Indeed, that can be done. Continuing references to the music, having it drift in and out of the dialogue would carry that jazzy mood throughout the piece. Good thinking, Catwoman.

Cool! Batman! Can't wait to see more of this one, Phonoho. Sounds like you are already on top of what I was going to say, same as, Bri. Nice job.

Was the spacing intentional in the fourth paragraph?
I much appreciate the bolding of your introduction/first chapter. If this bar is going to play a major role within your story, might I suggest… Quote:

Thanks for the peep, peeps. I made those changes, Rena. I'm gonna add some things here and there to bring more of the room and atmosphere into the story, more dialogue from Vicki (really just expanding on her statments with more details about the photos), and maybe a few more words from Chic.

She waited for my Man-brain to complete another squeaky revolution before she went on,
Phon, this is incredible! Has an almost film noir flavor to it. Took me back to my comic book days. If this isn;t fleshed out yet, then it's going to be even more awesome when you finish. Nice, nice work. My Grandpa had a copy of the first comic Batman was in, and - this'll kill ya - a copy of Action Comics #1. That's right - the first Superman. Don't know what happened to them; be worth a bundle now. You are going to continue with this, right? Awesome! Rick

Re: Batman: 111 Starlet Ave.
Thanks, Rick. I've been dropping in small bits already. I've got a couple more of these in the fire, but with different characters. I may eventually try to mesh them into a larger work, but for now they're stand-alones, although I do plan to link them somehow.
Film noir is what I had in mind, to bring back that detective/pulp fiction feel. I'll be using established characters from the Batman mythos while attempting to keep them true to their roots. My own characters will be just a little tarnished and not truly evil or corrupt. If it does become a series I'd like to give it a different title, something more in keeping with the after hours style.

My apologies to Kim Basinger, but I was thinking of Charlize Theron here.

Re: Batman:111 Starlet Ave.
Thank you, Rick and Chimps. It's good to know I was able to maintain your interest throughout the story. Although I'm not quit ready to tackle the Batman himself, the events in this piece will give Bruce an incentive to upgrade the Batsuit to reduce his heat signature. The upcoming film will feature an improved suit so I may write a piece detailing his testing of the new equiptment.
