Crazy Freewrite
Synopsis: an attempt at restarting the creative streak that higher education beat out of me in it's dangling of grades and other goodies.
Whoa, I'm sitting here with nothing to do, nothing to do; I ate alot at Subway today. Does a puddle ever wonder why it's shaped the way it is? Think about it, the shape of the puddle fits "just so" with the shape of the ditch/hole/canyon that it's in. Perhaps if it were concsious it would conclude, quite logically, that it is specially made for THAT hole, and that there is an element of the supernatural in its circumstance. I mean really, why else would the puddle and it's container fits just so perfectly like two puzzle pieces fated to come together under God's infitnie majesty. Here's the thing people -- to suppose God's infinite majesty is manifest in carbon-based blobs like us, that's not very nice to God. I mean, i don't know; the modern age is famous for two things -- those that are flashy, and those that are proficient at dealing out death. Are we the only species that aims at our own destruction? Does this happen in nature? No? Or perhaps the myth of living "in harmony with nature" is a bunch of baloney. I mean, perhaps it is nothing but cruel submission to the hottest heat, coldest cold, and tightest grip of determinism and Gaia-self-cannibalism. No harmony, no enlightenment, nothing but trees, bugs, dirt, and excrement that you step in. Perhaps Ayn Rand was on to something -- go up to the dirtiest, filthiest smoke stack you can find, and give it a good hug. In fact, kiss it. Make sweet love to it all through the night. Why? Because that smokestack is keeping your teeth in place past the age of thirty and your life-expectancy past a predetermined "prime" of about the same age. Really, all of human history, minus relatively few centuries and places, encompassing relatively few people is bottom-heavy. It is a pyramid scheme, fit for social security and nothing else. For there is plenty of youth, as the basest economics demand that manual labor is worth more than it costs -- as evident in the population explosion of agrarian and generally 3rd world societies -- But then, the richer countries, and the richer segments of any nation, typically have the population dip -- even decline. Witness Japan. But they live OH SO MUCH BETTER. This is not what I witnessed in class. My college experience was science-based, an array of technical gizmos aimed at probing various psychotic aspects of Nature's creation. So is life just a set amount? Can it neither be created nor destroyed -- only changing form. Is there a set quantity of life, either randomly determined or divinely ordained, that is to be traded between few per person at the benefit of numeric majority -- or a better quality of life, but only available to fewer, and leading to less people being born and experiencing that superior quality. I don't see a way out, and I don't recall there being a theory that explains how to escape this trade-off between quality and quantity of life. Which is more prominent? Who do you ask such a thing? What answer would be just "too radical"? I give up. There's nothing here. Freewrites are insane and so am I for trying one. I love it.

Re: Crazy Freewrite
Wow, Iggster, even though this was just a Freewrite, for some reason I loved it. I loved the puddle part. It reminded me of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (WHICH I LOVE).
Great Job.

Re: Crazy Freewrite
I probably should do more freewrites myself. It would be interesting to read what my mind really wants to spew out..perhaps I would find something worth expanding upon.
Very nice Iggy |

Conscious, but you have *concsious? Does one correct spelling in a Freewrite?
Does one also correct capitalization? I am not certain what to make of this write, but it is most catching. Anyone can do it (them) but I have not seen any others posted to SM. I like the chaos of thought you have posted here, yet it is not so chaotic is it? So for this most astonishing write I will rate 4/5!

Re: Crazy Freewrite
haha thank you renahands (and everyone else, of course).
i think the point of a freewrite is it's chaotic-ness, so i would argue that spelling and punctuation isn't a big deal. it's almost like messaging like now, only not about a single topic. also, if a chaotic, unedited freewrite has perfect spelling and usage, i would argue it makes it feel artificial, most likely edited (thereby defeating the point) and that much less "free'.
