Dark Kitten
Blood dripped from the walls
Carpet stained where they had lain
In the corner sat a Dark Kitten
Who had watched them all be slain.
Her eyes glistened warmly
Glowing like a green blur
She licked her paw carefully
And cleaned the blood from her fur
Then, purring quietly, she crept
Out the door and into the night
Moving like a shadow
Never caught in the light

Thank you, I try, hehe. Rhyming is my favorite scheme, it gives it more structure and flow I find, though I have been known to throw out a free-verse once in a while. DK

Re: Dark Kitten
Very very interesting poem. It always seems that the least likely - is the most likey, doesn't?

Re: Dark Kitten
I agree with maniac, it is different perspective that makes the poem unique to say the least. No one expects the cat, a common occurance in crimes these days. lol
