Come in, fresh ones, and sit down with me
I'll take you somewhere you want to be
A place of darkness, brood and hate
A place where evil fills the plates

I've given you this hall, so dark and deep
Where turmoil and insanity never sleep
Express yourselves as you wish and might
Here, that part of us, we do not fight

So join me 'round this flame-lit table
Where hope is irrelevant and time is unstable
Look, come, and please shut the door
While I empty your tears and your blood on the floor

In payment I ask only for your eternal soul
Place it here in this dirty communal bowl
So that all that come can see your true self
Displayed in a box, in this hall, on a shelf.

nicely written, dark. however i feel a few more lines should be added to elaborate further. "Where turmoil and insanity never sleeps", should this be 'sleep' instead?

"Where hope is irrelevant and time is unstable", i somehow feel that the second 'is' should be replaced with a comma... maybe its just me.

hmm yes sleep IS better isnt it, done and done.
I can't agree with your comma though, I think it would disrupt the flow of the line.

As always another great contribution to the site.. were you sitting on this one for awhile, or did it just come you? I'm just curious cause I know you wanted the dark section for awhile.. Anyhow, good job. ^^

I wrote it as I was sorting poems to put in here. The Dark section inspired me and all the amazing works I read that night whether they were dark or otherwise. Unfotunetly a lot of the poems get lost and forgotten and ignored after they slip off the first page. A trip into 10 pages back is quite rewarding. There have been MANY amazing contributions to this site.
