[Venomous Vixen]

Drifting, along the tide of loss it floats -
one single bottle and a year of thoughts,
all of the things I silently confided in you
bottled up, drifting along the tides of loss.

Falling, a year of tears flow down regret,
swarm and swirl against the bottle I hold,
one emptied many times this past year
numb now, a year of tears flow down regret.

Breaking, the glass shatters against the shore,
a place I can no longer reach, it keeps you,
haunted footprints along yesterday’s smile
they fade, as glass shatters against the shore.

And all I want to say, every little scribbled note
drowns in death’s tide, words spoken in vain -
I watch the candle burn, for you and you alone,
snubbed out by the spray of endless tears.

I whisper to you anyway, I love you...
but somehow the words are lost
along the shores I just can’t reach -
erased by the tide like footprints in the sand.

Ah, Bri, this is gorgeous - and haunting. The images - the bottle breaking, out of reach - are just stunning. This is just wonderful.

Two comments!? This is amazing Bri, one of my favourites by you, it is so sad, yet so amazingly descriptive and beautiful. It feels almost like an Amy Lee song, I can imagine her singing this and just bringing out all the emotions you have poured in. Great Write my dear.

That was an amazing display of emotion, and the heartbreaking tale it seemed to tell... really makes one stop and think, and take notice to what you're saying through the words and the passion seeping through the poem. I also liked the repetition in the some of the middle stanzas, the first and last lines.. loved that little touch. I'm a big fan of this one Bri... fantastic, amazing, brilliant job.

God. Amazing. Every stanza is absolutely stunning. The is one of those poems where you're left completely spellbound and have nothing to say. Excellent.
