Hmm, this poem is interesting. It's rather difficult to interpret the direct meaning, but I think its main purpose is to desribe how life is incredibly simple as a child, but as you grow up things become far more complicated and you discover the dark things in life. At least, that's my initial interpretation. Your descriptions of the painted place are very detailed and give the reader a nice image of the painting. I especially like the lines "a slice of blue" and "a slice of green". They are good pieces of imagery and tie the two descriptions together.
