Re: déjà vu without of a concrete memory
Wow, very nice. It is still early morning, and my mind cannot truly comprehend your meaning, but I love the poetry in its current form, and also enjoy the imaging you create.

Re: Déjà vu without of a concrete memory
I liked.. the hope for the poem but something just didnt sit well with me. I might have gotten lost in trying to see the structure of maybe I read the words without really trying to understand the meaning of them, but I think you had so much going on that I counldnt concentrate.

Re: Déjà vu without of a concrete memory
Now that you have given me a bit of background on this one it makes perfect sense and is really rather beautiful... imaging you lying there, smoking, lost in the night and in your thoughts. It also makes the structure much more clear, like the fleeting smoke, curling up. From the first time I read this and still I love the last two lines, raises questions again.... something you have been doing a lot with your work lately, making me think. The whole de ja vous struck me as well, the way you used it as something other than a concrete feeling but still something familiar. Very clever my little bugger. I think what is hard with this piece is that it is so personal, so deep in your own mind that it becomes hard to relate to and thus loses your captive audience. Regardless, it is a beautiful piece of work and with a little explanation opens up for so much reflection.
