Amid the sultry and lost shadows sweeping my hall,
I brush past the coats and memories whilst
avoiding it all. Till in the mirror, she was distant
and calling and hollowed inside, but something
was there as the daylight caught those eyes.
Don’t do this to me now, inconvenient is time.

As I snag at loose threads as they unravel from the hem
of my dreads, I venture to once again meet the host
of a past smile while tugging and earnestly freeing myself
from some dilemmas of mine.

If only life could be secured not expertly snipped away
like the threads now engulfing my hands’ new
therapy, so, I tease and cajole the spiders legs
hanging innocently, but what they held once invincibly
is now like me, in shreds.

Sharp shrift with scissors frees the ticking of my watch,
I stand tall, smooth my makeshift remnants and hope to hold
a sideways glance which tells me she still watches brazen
and bold, she knows all there is and what isn’t laid bare,
like the snags of my stockings and many many more,
loose threads, part of the torn clothing in which I hide
till one day we can both have our eyes opened wide.

GAAAAHHHH! Lu, this is lovely. The language is so beautiful, your expressions so eloquent. Hard to find words to describe this. How about "wonderful?"
