It's hard to think straight
When I have a cacophony
Of thoughts echoing in my head.

Are my own thoughts facetious?
Or does their perplexity mirror mine?

Whether by fate or chance,
I've come to this here point
The place in my mind,
Where you take the foreground.

The clamour of thoughts fall behind,
And I breathe a little stronger.
You are the calm in my storm.

We've been through a lot you and I
And I can't help but notice
How your laughter
Brings joy to my heart,
And your smile
Cures all my calamities.

Thinking about this,
Does me no good.

You're not mine,
Not now, not close.
We have our own paths,
And their trails may never meet.

I may never hold you,
Like I hold you tonight in my dreams.
I may never tell you,
That I love you,
Like I tell you tonight in my sleep.

Gosh Maniac...that was...well...rather heartbreaking. You've known sent me into a spiral of sorrow, recounting all my lost loves...lol. Very powerful. I am rather taken aback by this. A piece hasn't hit me so hard emotionally for a while, and this one jus...wow. Very powerful. I loved your use of language, using word like "facetious" and "cacophony". Very impressive.
