The Dead-Beat Debate

He dropped - more sullenly than wearily,
Slumped stupid like a cod, heavy like meat,
And no one close could kick him to his feet;
"This is the Lords" he murmured dreamily.
- Didn't appear to know he had to speak
For his ailing party - he just stared;
"I'll do him in" whined one, "if this Bill's spared,
I'll murder him, I will."

Re: The Dead-Beat Debate

Hmm, very interesting, got very intruiging towards the end. I wonder which "Bill" you could be referring to? A person called Bill or a political bill? Or both perhaps... I would like to know which "Bill" in particular regardless. "This is the Lords" would send me down the path of political, but upon rereading I think one can make the case for a person. If only there was a member of the lords named Bill. Pretty sure there aint though. I love the depth of this. A most enjoyable read, thanks for sharing.

I am with perscription, I had the same question. I am from the US so my first thought was Clinton... perhaps with the upcoming election and Hilary running and all, but upon a second read I think you may have had a deeper intent than that. Regardless, I got the political bit and it was well done...

Thanks 'Perscription' and 'Venomous'...Your interpretations are most interesting from my own British perspective.
