Where Does the Flame Go?
A slant on an acrostic*
I
douse,
gently damp the light,
dubious bright,
gets in my eyes.
A
flame,
gently dies away,
into the grey,
suffocates.
My
scream,
gently as I breathe,
presses its heave,
killing me.
This
dream,
gently sleeps within,
inside the glib,
glimmer of hope.
Hope,
gleens,
gently as it may,
shyly away,
until the dark.
Ease,
smoothes,
gently snuffs the war,
engulfs and explores,
someday.
Fuel’s
past,
gently it ignites,
fumes inhaled,
contentedly.
Is
sanity,
gently in my peace,
a temporary lease?
Who knows?
Rise,
sublimely,
gently coax the flame,
fill in the frame,
roar!
End,
ferociously.
Gently, no. I will reek,
havoc is not weak.
Burn!
