Re: Silly Love Songs
Hmm. I rather like this one. I get a feel for it in an old Motown sort of feel to it. I like that it has repetition like a normal song, but not strictly followed in the bridge to chorus style- changing words to similar but definitely different ones.

Re: Silly Love Songs
Wonderful Tricia! I love how you're trying to write about 'silly love songs' by actually incorporating a song into this. Very good effect. Beautiful thought you've captured here and you've expressed it in a brilliant manner. I love this!

Re: Silly Love Songs
Yes, I echo what has been said before me. It is almost a mocking of the way people have put things into words, adding them into italics and making them really pop out. More so than that though, I love the ideas you brushed on in the regular font, the feeling of the curve of a shoulder, the burning left after a touch. One of my favorites from you and bold in the thought process. Well done!

Re: Silly Love Songs
Thanks Nupur and Bri. After listening to another cookie-cutter love song about some guy's amazing smile, I just kind of snapped and wrote this in retaliation. Because, honestly, the hopeless romatic in me really does love a good love song. ^_^

Re: Silly Love Songs
I love the idea of the song u have here, with the whole if love is blind then why do so many people see it so similarly ie. in love songs that all sound the same. But I think the ending is giving off the idea that poem's are a better way to show love to someone then a song? is that what your going for? If so i'd have to disagree but you do make your argument in a beautiful way
Good Job |

Re: Silly Love Songs
Thanks for the comment! I left this one pretty open for interpretation, so whatever you see in it is absolutely correct. ^_^ As for poetry over songs, I don't know. Both can miss the point: just a cute tune or just a trite little verse, however, when the essence of the writer's feeling is really captured, I think either medium is a viable way to show love. Thanks again for your thoughts. ^_^

Re: Silly Love Songs
I love the whole idea of writing a song about "silly love songs"
I would love to actually hear this as a song, and hear how it would flow. Although I’m definitely not a expert, I think you have done a great job.

Re: Silly Love Songs
Thanks for the comments paul. Yes, this is more of a song than a poem really, and it does have a tune. I'm not sure if I have the musical ability to make a recording of it and do it justice, so for now, it's in limbo. Thanks again for commenting; it's been a bit since I wrote this one and I'd forgotten about it. This sort of pleasant reminder is nice every now and then. Thanks for digging this one up. ^_^

Re: Silly Love Songs
This is so nice - I saw it come up again and thought I'd revisit it. If I knew how it went, I'd try to record it - although as swamped as I am right now, that's probably an idle promise. Nice job, though, Tricia.
