Sweet Mariah
Sweet Mariah, dancin' in the moonlight,
Let me be your lover, tell me it's all right.
One minute you say you will, the next you say you won't,
First you say you do, yes 'n, then you say you don't!
(Pre chorus)
And I don't know,
Why you play your little games,
Do you know,
That you're driving me insane?
(Chorus)
Please tell me you love me,
Sweet Mariah.
Please tell me you need me,
Ah, Sweet Mariah!
Sweet Mariah, ah, you've never had a lover,
You're just playin' grown-up games,
Underneath the covers.
Why are you so afraid, to give your heart away?
I'll do anything you want, if you'll just let me stay.
(Pre chorus)
And I don't know,
Why you play your little games,
Do you know,
That you're driving me insane?
(Chorus)
Please tell me you love me,
Sweet Mariah.
Please tell me you need me,
Ah, Sweet Mariah!
Sweet Mariah, your hair's the scent of evergreen,
I can't find the words to say,
Exactly what you mean to me.
Sweet Mariah, won't you let me be your man?
I can make you happy, I'll do the best I can.
(Pre chorus)
And I don't know,
Why you play your little games,
Do you know,
That you're driving me insane?
(Chorus)
Please tell me you love me,
Sweet Mariah.
Please tell me you need me,
Ah, Sweet Mariah!
No - this is not about Mariah Carey! She was a girl named Mariah who I knew in college. She was a wild child and a free spirit. It was intense and wonderful and burned out like a shooting star. But it was fun while it lasted!
This one kind of kicks ass for an acoustic song. Uses a "Third Hand" partial capo on the third fret and a standard capo on the first fret to mimic Open "A" tuning without having to retune the guitar.
