No - this is not about Mariah Carey! She was a girl named Mariah who I knew in college. She was a wild child and a free spirit. It was intense and wonderful and burned out like a shooting star. But it was fun while it lasted!

This one kind of kicks ass for an acoustic song. Uses a "Third Hand" partial capo on the third fret and a standard capo on the first fret to mimic Open "A" tuning without having to retune the guitar.

Lovely lyrics, Rick. The first stanza made me smile, as did the rest of the song. I love the tone of this, sweet and nice and at the same time just a tiny bit desperate. Love it!

Very perceptive, Nupur, with the desperation aspect. It was one of those "young love" things. She was beautiful, and she was very particular. You counted yourself very lucky if she even talked to you. All the guys wanted her, and wanted to go out with her, but she called the tune. We had a relationship that lasted about six months or so. I found out later it was, up until that time, the longest she had ever been with anyone. So I guess I should be flattered!

I agree with Nup...nice tone. I paticularly liked it, I have a sister, I have a sister called Mariah and she's a bitch (not really, well sorta) and she was once a bit fo heartbreaker. So this was eerily relatable. Very nice, not as poetic as "Indian Summer"...but they are lyrics after all. Any MP3's up yet? Great rhythm...could almost imagine it being sung...well done Rick.

This Mariah was a tease and a beauty and a heartbreaker and throroughly irresistible. It was kinda like riding a bucking bronco - didn't last long, but what a blast while it lasted! Thanks, Chris
