Wow. That's amazing... the mood you created here. Great lyrics. I can hear it all... Very blues-y jazz-y. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

Re: The Answer
I completely agree with Rose. Can you actually produce a track? I would love to hear this one actually produced....

Re: The Answer
This was refreshing. I could hear the song play in my head as I read this. Magnificent.

Re: The Answer
Wow, what a reaction! Thank you all. I got the idea from my comment on Stamiles poem "She Real Smooth", using the instruments as characters, all fighting for the attention of the songs intended subject, each stepping in to display his quality and value as a suitor in each verse.

Re: The Answer
I have been a blues fan all my life. As a teen, I discovered images of it through 60's and 70's rock music. As I grew older, I searched ever further back in time for the most pure examples, it's essence. In "Statesboro Blues", from 1925, the twelve string guitar of young Blind Will McTell sounded like a lost piano, a sound reflected in the homeliness of his own virgin voice.
Still, I adore contemporary blues and how the genre has so evolved, yet remained so true to its hard won roots. Knowing this, Duncan, you do indeed have my blessing. Blues is all about interpretation, so feel free to apply your own. I only hope that you don't have as much trouble with your band as I had with this one.

Re: The Answer
I agree with everyone else who posted here. There really isn't an end to your talent. These are some terrific lyrics and I'd love to hear them sung. Gotta agree with Lu about the instrument arrangement. Amazing work, James.

Re: The Answer
Thank you. I enjoyed giving each instrument a personality. It's what I enjoy the most when watching a live performance.
My dream band for this song would be - Little Walter - vocals/harmonica Willie Dixon - piano Johnny Winter - guitar Clarence Clemmons - saxophone Tommy Shannon - double bass
