Hooray! I'm in grad school
Everyone thought I was a complete fool
When I flunked all the exams twice
Advice came flowing without vice

Don't bother about giving them again
For you are never going to gain
A PhD is too far away a dream
And will melt faster than ice cream

But little did I care and listen
Even thought my eyes did a bit moisten
And so I again had a go at them
With less hope but more stratagem

Lo and behold! I cleared some
Boy! I felt really awesome
Never did I feel so elated
And so bloated and bloated!

And so started researching in earnest
What lab should I join, at the earliest
And so I went to labs all around
For these fellowships are time-bound

Found a lab at long last
Man, they publish very fast
Their work was interesting too
But others said it was just goo

No real science they said
"If I were you I'd fled"
Bit I chose to stick on
To wait and see what would come on

It's been two years now to date
And I'll finish never too late
I have achieved a decent goal
Hooray! I'm in grad school!

I was glad to read this poem. It read like a story, but it rhymed. I actually did feel a bit of happiness while reading it. It reminded me of graduating, of accomplishing a goal. It was a good piece, and I hope that you keep them coming. In fact, let me know when you get another one out there.

Would advise changing "If I were you I'd fled" to "If I were you I'd of fled" or "If I were you I would have fled"
