Grandfather's Madness

I rather enjoy times from long before,
But now all is forgotten like old lore,
When good days held smiles and laughter for all,
Now good days are bought at a party stall,
Back when a violin was good alone,
Instead men scream into their microphone,
Am I old because I like the serene?
Which is quite funny, since I'm just a teen!

Re: Grandfather's Madness

I think you really meant a restroom stall or a private dance booth, but in using party instead, you broaden the sense to include other types of decadence. Good effect.

Haha, I find this rather funny...
I guess I didn't take you for the "serene" type Masa-kun.

Nice line-

Re: Grandfather's Madness

Pish-posh, Masa loves the silence more than he loves his own life! I never found many of today's screamo bands much fun, but an orchestra... ah... that's wonderful...

Re: Grandfather's Madness

I like a variety ^_^
Screamo just happens to be one of my favorites, depending on my mood. But, classical and serene music is very nice too. Like how violins () are one of my favorite sounds

Re: Grandfather's Madness

I can listen to System of a Down on occasion, but unless it has to do with getting excited for a big home game, I'd rather listen to Master Wagner or a special Orchestra.

Re: Grandfather's Madness

This poem makes me think of a dear friend of mine. We sadly lost touch but I love him still. He played the violin and my girl friend and I would hang outside his house and listen to him practice. The violin has a human voice to it, does it not? Almost a babies cry, but mature. I make no sense, I realize this. Still. Lovly, really lovly. < both the poem and violin>

Re: Grandfather's Madness

Thanks buttercup! I love the violin as well! I took a fancy to it when I heard it once being played at a um... what do they call it? Talent contest? But yes, I loved it so much, I tried to save money to buy one myself! I have the money, but have lost that feeling of want, now I simply enjoy that melodous tune and haunting song it plays in my dreams...

Re: Grandfather's Madness

Yes, very lovely ^_^
I still have that want for one, but I don't have the money to purchase one.
Ha, I guess I need to save up!
I understand what you mean by a mature baby cry! The sound, it's haunting and moving at the same time. I can feel my heart skip beats when one is played...my emotions freeze and just a feeling of passion is left yearning for more. *sigh* Saddening.

And System!! Great band

Re: Grandfather's Madness

Hmm... perhaps it'd be best for Masa to send you the money then? How much do those lovely instruments sell for I wonder...

Hehehe, BYOB and Chop Suey, nice songs, eh?
