[Eadha Deora]

On one side, the wild world beckons
with wandering grass and a wind
that promises wonders to behold,
if you but swim the stream before you,
to mount the bank into open places
with the cold caress of
much more than you,
entering at will the dark outspread
feet of trees waiting for you in the earthen
terrain of labarynthed desire.

The other side is a garden,
tended with the cosy comfort
of kettle and cake nearby, and
black cats dozing on sun dials
lazily rhapsodizing about the quiet joy
of good tilled ground and
feet in mud
that knows the secrets of life to your busy
ears, filled with the haze of
mown grass, long in its laying, and
bees bursting with energy enough for a
winter's keeping,
if you but dig your hands in the soil
and touch the cultivated peace hid waiting in us all.

I have lain here, looking through both windows,
one to the freedom, and
one to the confinement,
calling both sweet, simply by the
uplifted light of my face
into the choice of
both.

I'm glad ... I can't believe I wrote six poems while I was away for one week. That was nearly a poem a day!

teehee, true .. and it's so quiet at the cottage. No electricity unless you turn the generator on. Then it's not so quiet, lol. But it sits in a green belt park preservation area and the cottage is listed as a historic site. So very old and way back when, if you know what i mean.

least its protected and also the gnerator which never works at cruical times means u cn appreciate natures beaty asu pound those stones with your smalls. ah,nature!

ahahaha ... i have found that the only thing we need electricity for is the computer. Everything else is off of solar panels, wind, or done by day light, candle light, fire light, or torch light. Oh and batteries, which we recharge when we have the generator on, but that's not much. *shrug* We don't have a tv .. and the dvd player is battery operated as well.

Quite frankly though, living there you dont have time to watch tv or sit on the computer. There is so much to do. I like doing things the old fashioned way too, sometimes. So I make all my breads and cakes from scratch, and my own cleaning solutions and perfumes. We make all our own wines and beers. I make candles. We get milk and eggs from the dairy farmer next property over.

This one is really striking because it is so much more than you see on the surface... which is something that makes you sit and ponder for a good long time. I think that is a hard thing to capture and you do it perfectly... as for the view, well for the face value of it and from the images you shared with me about the place you live you portrayed it to a T. it's funny though because I was literally describing the views. I was laying in bed and to my left was a view into the over-an-acre herb garden and to my right was a huge meadow going up a hill with dark forests at its edges.
