Two glorious white swans glide out amongst sweet lily pads
Ripples of cool water spiral out to green grass
Two reflections are carried under the sweet lily pads
They go on forever in the seasons that pass

The sun lends a gleam to glorious ice feathers
On the water there is a stillness, a serenity, a hush
The silence is broken when trickles leave the feathers
When a head once submerged rises causing water to rush

The two swans come together face to face up on the water
They mirror each other as they circle with the flow
They form with their bodies a white heart up on the water
Then try to part but the strong current won't let it go

It's wintertime now and when the cool ripple freezes over
The swans dance cheek to cheek as they glide and as they flow
They wait all summer long til the water freezes over
Then dance their waltz of love, side by side, on they go

As the coldness passes and spring brings forth the thaw
Droplets of icy water leaves the bough of every tree
Young white wings sparkle in the flow brought by the thaw
A white heart forms to embrace a new family

Not exactly my type of poetry, but that's why I'm me. However I can appreciate this great contribution to the poetry on the site. Very vivid images sprang to life with this piece, I could actually see the swans and the water... all very beautiful. Good job. Thanks for sharing.

Wonderful!!! I pictured every detail in my mind as it happened. THe repitition of terminating phrases added a nice touch. I didn't think i would like that at first but it turned out great.
