The Dance

When I get bored
and can take no more
I drive to the moutains
with nothing in store
The Rockies, so majestic
yet so serene
They bring back the feelings
from when I was a teen
Life was so simple
yet complicated as well
Every day was like heaven
mixed in with hell
Im lost in my thoughts
and her beauty and grace
If the earth were a woman
then this is her face
If you stay in the city
then you dont know what I speak
You're just lost in the turmoil
and the days are so bleak
This planet is so beautiful
its the people I cant stand
They have taken her beauty
and cut off her hands
So every opportunity
I jump at the chance
To spend time with this lady
and to savor the dance

Ah, I see that you, like me, are somewhat of a misanthropist. I like your point about the city and people in general.
Why is nature always a she? I mean, I agree, it is a she, I just don't know why.
The only time I visited the Rockies was when I was twelve. I stayed in a place called
'Beaver Creek'. lol.

Re: The Dance

You keep impressing me!!! I really admire the flow of your thoughts in all your writing. tranquilitysin already said what I wanted to say, that I love the way you compared nature to a woman.
Good point, lostsnail, about why IS nature always a woman? more like a mother usually. Ah, I love the Goddess.
Anyway . . . I don't like people who deface the beauty of earth either. I wrote a poem about a tree . . . I need to post it on here. Hmmm. I happen to be one of those big "green" people . . . good to read something wellput. I've never been to the Rockies. Sigh. I will one day.

Ahhh....the Rockies are truly majestic.....I hope you get to see them someday....Everyone should.....But it pisses me off because they have developed communities right up to the foothills and it detracts from the beauty that our ancestors got to see.....I just wish there would be one natural beauty that they wont over develop or attempt to profit from.....Sorry but I get worked up over this issue......anyhow, thanks again for your kind words and it really makes me feel good that I have gotten such a good response
