Against the Land
Feel the heartbeat of the land.
Feel its might with your bare hands.
It rages and creeps . . .
It surges and sweeps . . .
It batters and steals . . .
It blesses and heals . . .
Earth, Fire, Water, Air:
Fight them if you dare.
Strength to be harnassed, wild.
Strength that shouldn't be riled.
Earth with its treachery.
Seed sprouts. Then butchery.
Mud slide, earthquake,
high is the stake.
Fire, with its mastery
brings all to chastity.
Char, ashes, smoke, the blaze.
Wet alone can calm this craze.
Water, all things need,
but with surging speed,
it suffocates, drowns,
bringing living down.
Air, with its clenched wind fists
whips the world with quick twists.
It's here, it's there, a foe
unseen, til tornados.
Weigh your strength against the land.
You are weak. Where do you stand?
Earth. Fire. Water. Air.
Fight them if you dare.
