If the Earth

If the earth was a fair place
Each of us would see the same face
If the earth was a safe home
Wars would be fought with Styrofoam

If the earth was truly a free rock
My key would open every lock
If the earth fought back and killed us all
Would Mother Nature rise or fall?

If the earth was gone and our homes too
Could we travel the stars like Kirk and his crew?
If the earth is alive as I think it is
Could we all live with nature in eternal bliss?

I know that it's corny but it just isn't ours
The earth will go on long after our hours
We could soon be extinct become dust in the wind
Or live on forever the earth and it's kin

Re: If the Earth

This was really cool. I had to think of what we would do if things like that happened. I sometimes wonder if we'll be extinct before the earth dies. However the end may be, this was my favorite line.

Awesome. Very creative and yet so original. This was great, good job ^_^

Re: If the Earth

Hey, great work, moggzy. It is more casual than most poetry, more modern with the use of styrofoam and Kirk, etc. It does a fantastic job of communicating the issue, and really makes people think. Congrats.
I would note though, that the Earth, as much as I love it, has a very low probability of existing "forever" whether or not we are with it. The Sun has her own lifetime, and her elder years won't be so good for the Earth.

Re: If the Earth

This piece was powerful. It had a light touch of humor. And it was very true in every way. The ryhming really worked as well, benefited the piece more than anything.
