[PICK] Parody of This is Just To Say
#1
The Ferarri I have borrowed your yellow Ferarri and totalled it In which you were intending to drive to Florida during spring break. Forgive me I was trying to pick up this really cute guy and he said he wanted a key chain. . . #2 Wedding Rings I have not forgotten to buy our wedding rings In which we were inteading to wear for the rest of our lives Forgive me I thought they were too expensive so I bought a car instead . . . ***the REAL poem goes like this . . . . This is just to say... William Carlos Williams I have eaten the plums that were in the icebox and which you were probably saving for breakfast Forgive me they were delicious so sweet and so cold

I didn't break up the lines 'cause I cou;dn't figure out just how to do it. . . I wouldn't say I was being disrespectful to w carlos w but complimenting is too far. . . I was just writing a poem using a similar format but make it something to look at and lol. . . thanx!

I liked the Ferrari one. It kept with the feel more than the other attempt. I think it's funny that she took an entire car to give a key chain.. who da thunk it? lol. This is a great exercise as far as I can see (seeing I have never attempted to make a parody version of anything besides maybe goofin to a song) and it is neat to see some attempts at paroding poetry.

i think that would be a perfect line to add in the poem colin!!!!! It is soo cute and goes perfectly!!!! I think the guy that wrote it was from a period of time when 'icebox' meant 'fridge' to us otherwise he might have added that line!! your line is kind of ironic and at least now we know why he is sorry for eating the plums!!!!!
