The Memior of a Child
The Memior of a Child N.Man A child had stole away In the night to sit Beneath the growing tree Protruding from the lawn He knelt atop the wet grass And felt around for flowers Till overwhelmed by sleep Fell into a reverie He awoke rather suddenly And stood, looking out at the hills And at the sun still rising Listening for bells of day He heard not the bells And saw not the hills And his bony fingers clenched The drab and tattered clothing Clinging to his flaccid back And the flower was still withering, Withering away -Foster and Fell-

This poem is really different...some may say that it isnt really a poem since it doesnt ryhme...I would have to say that I dont really care. However the meaning and what happens to the child is very very subtle.

Not all poetry rhymes.... This was so touching and filled with a vivid imagery. My interpretation was he didn;t wake upat all, he was dead...waiting for the bells.
