where we steal babies from their mother's arms,

Call them men, strong and free,
And yet through force, shackling
to outposts and repression,
and call it, nay, liberty,

We are the pioneers of this earth,
Proud, strong and girt by sea,
Yet we plant our flag in the ground,
Stamp on the soil and claim lost and found,

Begetting the shrubs under the colony's boot,
Another notch on the belt
of our forefather's loot,

Where the red sand meets the black sky
and the sun rises up, yellow and fierce,
But outshined by the night, the southern cross,
by our wilfully closed, squinting eye,

The Union Jack was hoisted up
in the 17th century of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We pioneered through blood,
Thieving the sun,
And colouring in the past,
in a new colour, just for fun,

That's a shame. You did a great job of representing your forefather's hard won footing and a struggling new colony. Those darn English, thinking they could sop up all the world's gravy with a single dry biscuit.

This was great. The rhythm was perfect, your word usage was great. You always use flowery language jsut enough so the intelligent can appreciate it, but it still has that meaty, raw feeling to it. Your grammar was spot on, as always. You know how I enjoy political pieces, so ofcourse I love this. I'm seeing a little Ani influence in you...lol. It was really terrific, my favorite by you lately.

woah. Corneac this one would have surely been a winner in the CFPC, but I'm almost glad you didn't make it because this one should be a full-fledged poem instead of a submission.

It all seems very political to me, and I'm not so well-versed in politics, but still the power is not lost on me. Your language and descriptions are great. This stanza I found particularly cool:
