Wow Lu, I love this. (haha but you know I am all for the political pieces) The tempo change mid poem is great, almost like a march to the polls for the one day we feel we can change things... I got a feeling of politicians empty promises here, all forgotten as soon as votes are cast. Actually it really is rather sad and you stated it so well.

The metaphors you employ are excellent for the purposes of delivering the intended message (at least how I interpreted it). And for sure, the 'shortsighted' are currently in the majority.
It can only be hoped that ignorance (i.e. lack of true, objective knowledge), at some stage in the future, will pass into socially scientific knowledge. I have every confidence that future generations will indeed, develop a mass consciousness with the aim of changing the world for the good of the majority (and hopefully all) of the human species. Another great work with a noble content. Colin
