We live in a world of hate and scorn,
where the dead are not silent,
and only the living can mourn.

We are a people who are lost and confused,
killing our brethren,
their lives objected and abused.

We live by laws we can not abide,
practice beliefs wholly,
and succumb to pride.

We are a swath of evil within our own,
searching to vanquish
all conscience that does atone.

Our own sins are painted upon our hands,
a forgotten reminder
of the dark con of man.

Our young are corrupted from the beginning,
taught by our actions,
fresh minds for imprinting.

We live in a world where we do not forget,
we no longer forgive,
and ignore all regret.

We are a people unwilling to amend,
quick to wage war,
and doomed to be our own end.

We live in a world that no longer has feeling,
numbed from a pursuit
our better judgment repealing.

We are a people who live amongst the lost,
who attempt to find balance
no matter the cost.
