Re: Sheep
Hope you feel better, because you let somebody have it. I'm sure they deserved it. You excel at these "zingers," Bri. This one falls under the "sad but true" label. Nicely done, hun.

I love the feel of this. But then, you read my entry for the CFPC#21, and these are both in the same family, so to speak.
There's more to be said. If only we as a nation would wake up and tell them where to stick it all! I was personally screwed by Corporate America, and have watched others get the shaft as well. You put it all out there so nicely, and in all the truth that was expounded, the one simple word that could possibly be used to effectively sum up the hopelessness of our self-imposed situation, you aptly chose to be the title. Bravo!

Re: Sheep
Sadly this is true in my view. The nation to which you refer does indeed currently belong to (in the sense of effectively being owned by) 'Corporate America', both legally and ideologically. In his 1984 work 'The Making of an Atlantic Ruling Class', the social scientist, Kees van der Pijl adopts a neo-Gramscian approach, describing the domestic ideology of the USA as that of 'corporate liberalism'. This ideology it is argued, also serves as a unifying, transnational ideology for the capitalist class globally. It is a persuasive argument.
