Re: Bush Oh Bush

So, who the hell cares? Just because the majority of Americans had their heads up their asses dosent mean that I cant express me disgust with one of the worst Presidents the US has ever scene. He is the exact opposite of King Midas whos touch turned everything to gold, all he has done is well just look. Iraq faliure. Immagration plans, faliure. Taxes faliure. Even as a CEO all his business falied beneath him. And so what there was no terrorist attack since Sept 11. Its only been six years. Before Bush the last terrorist attack was ten years. They dont happen that often. And what the hell would stop them from doing it again if they tried? I know they would get bored waiting in line at Secutirity and give up.

I hate to tell you but if you look around buddy you'll see you people are getting few and far apart. Reason has to hit you guys sometimes. Traditional conservatives dont like him, Dems dont like him, his own parents dont even show up to his birthday party. He will be a legend no doubt, As one of America's most unsucessful leaders, and one of the most pathetic times for the American people.

By the way Im an avid libertarian not a Democrat. You dont have to be a Dem to hate Bush just someone who cares about whats going on in the world and not some idealistc Stockholm syndrome case against ones oppresive goverment.

Re: Bush Oh Bush

BTW I noticed I didn't put my 2 cents in the earlier post. This piece has a surprisingly excellent flow (not considering you but considering formatting) and brings up a different POV whether or not people agree. I am going to stay out of political convo for at least today and keep it at that Now fix this up so you can make my vote for this going through to the next round of top ten make more sense

I absolutely love this stanza... It really reinforces that fact that we, as Americans, have been granted the right to vote and yet the one's who do not place the blame upon others. Though this poem was written a while ago, it still holds true, more so than ever. I love this piece, absolutely spot on about all situations in this country. William, this was wonderfully delivered... haha and it makes me get all fuzzy and semi-patriotic for the way things were intended to be.

Re: Bush Oh Bush

One as the quality czar, I only have the power to delete submissions, not already posted works.

Two it came before those regulations were put into place.

Three this was my very first poem...ever. I dont think its that bad.

Four I said I dont like this poem now and will not make any changes. Its there as it is.

Five, I no longer require your feedback for this or any work of mine.

I dont understand what you mean by that last comment.

Re: Bush Oh Bush

Sean. I must post this.

One. This poem is nearing 2 1/2 years old, was the first poem he ever wrote at-- what would that be... 13 years old?

Two. Editing. It was an editor's job to catch the grammar issues prior to posting at that point in time, as I'm sure you are well aware of. We cannot punish him for errors made years ago that were not caught by those whose job it was to correct.

Three. Ok. Everybody knows Muad isn't Mr. Grammar. But he is all about content. That is what the quality control is about. It is the editor's job to make sure grammar is up to par prior to posting. It is their job to make sure content is of quality because many pieces have gone through the editing to posting that really shouldn't have based off of that.

Four. We are easier on people who are younger as to quality befitting their age. As Muad has matured so has our expectations of him.... not to mention him for himself. Muad does not find this piece worthy enough for bothering with, which is his right.

Five. BRI is the poetry quality control goddess. No one else. So Muad has no jurisdiction here, nor would he be expected to go over his own work if he were.

Let's not get ugly here people.

Re: Bush Oh Bush

Right, another late post from the newbie!
One spelling mistake:

"Well its to bad now" - **too**

I personally felt that as a piece of poetry, i found it very frustrating and quite annoying to read. The flow was completely stop-start to no particular effect and rhyme was simplistic and quite disappointing for such a highly controversial issue. There were some lines that i liked, but even these were lost as i struggled to keep them in poetical context. When i first started reading, it sounded as if it was going to be limerick, which would have probably been better, exploring this issue through a more light-hearted satirical manner, but then it strayed off onto an un-aimed tangent.
I respect that you are very frustrated about Bush, as are many people, and that you stood up to make yourself heard, but i feel even much of your argument is very narrow and almost cliche, although this is also not helped by the simplicity with which you deliver them.

I'm sorry that this is a bit harsh, it's just that i really do think that if you're going to write about such controversial and complex issues, or any political issue for that manner, the poetry must be hard hitting and as clever/intricate as the issue itself, through either mental content or just though imagery and use of words/rhyme etc.

Also i know you wrote this ages ago, but i read it and just had to post!

Re: Bush Oh Bush

Oh, sorry, spoke before i read Sy's post

Well now i feel stupid, and bad.

If you wrote that when you were thirteen, that's quite amazing for you to have such views at that age, poetry asides.

My apologies, and i cant wait to read some of your newer work!

Keep writing, and forgive me again for my un-informed criticism!
