Imperialism Dear Boy, Imperialism
This limerick is written in response to the willingness of powerful Western political figures to readily embrace the concept of Military Imperialism,(most recently in Iraq), along with all that this implies in terms of the lost lives of servicemen and servicewomen. And lest we forget, the countless Iraqi civilians (men, women, children) that have been killed in their homeland over the past decade and a half. I use the term 'countless' with purpose here, as most civilian deaths in Iraq seem to pass unreported in the Western press.
Imperialism Dear Boy, imperialism
We now have a P.M. in Britain,
Whose love for the U.S is written,
In the blood of all those,
That he's sent out in droves,
To help bolster U.S aggression.
