Thank you Storiesmaniac (I was going to call you SM but such an abbreviation has connotations, at least here in Britain, that you might not appreciate.. ) Seriously however, I would not for one minute suggest that Americans per se are 'stupid' (even though I fully understand your articulation) any more than I would say all Britains are stupid. The problem to my mind is not stupidity but political necessity. It is a political (and thus class) necessity that the American state in particular establishes a dominant military presence in The Middle East, plain and simple.

Oh i know it was all polictical. Just like as much as i hated it John Howard had to send Australian troops into iraq to show support of America. Politics bah. lol.
