A comma curves, welcomes in the next fragment,
like a wave, a slight stave, that lulls in the break,
the full stop, stopped me, and let me catch my breath,
for you can see, I write too much poetry,
my worlds been distilled down to grammar
and what it says to me,

Semicolon, the gatekeeper, questions the proceeding thought,
and lets it flow, wash in, real slow,
through he gap in broken fence of words,
yes, they must look archaic from a distance,
the outskirts of an abandoned town,
and sometimes that’s just what it is,
the tumbleweed, without contention,
tumbles over me,

but maybe, behind the rutted gateposts,
that rot and leans against,
the boarded up windows
of plotholes and symbols,
there’s something
for me

Ha, and then you blow me away. This is absolutely amazing... I am in complete awe. The flow, the word selection, the images. I know I rag on you about writing poetry about poetry but I am glad you do not listen, for this is just... perfect. The "curve" of a comma, "full stop" to catch your breath and then the semi-colon... words could not explain the feelings this one conjures up inside. Honestly one of my favorites from you to date. Go away and stop writing, you make me green with envy! Haha, but seriously, I am in love with this one!

First things first, the subject matter. Never in my wildest dreams could I have thought about writing a poem on semicolon. A very creative and new idea indeed.
