Loneliness as a word is acceptable and nothing blatantly so sinister until it dissolves into the membranes and fluids swamped already by emptiness; another of those wistful day words, always ready to moisten a tongue. They roll from it like an untamed lawn, sprawling and spread out before us and before we know it, unkempt inflection and overgrown syllables exaggerate the agony of walking barefoot through its maze of incongruities; a maze raised to the ground – out of sight, to guarantee prisoners. Only when spelled out and after a lesson learned does the drought end. Enriching its soil now full of tears shed, tears not wasted.
