Hearts

I’ve always wondered:
How many hearts do I have?
They tell me just one,
So is each part a half?

There’s one that shows my love
And holds emotions in it, too.
There’s one that keeps me living
It is beating, it is true.

But in these two halves,
Do not two more halves lie?
One that impairs my judgment,
Another that makes me cry.

Should I attribute my mind’s
Work to something in a heart?
How do I get both confused,
When their jobs are so far apart?

Do we truly understand it,
Or do we just say that we do?
Does the heart have one spot,
Or does it possibly have two?

Re: Hearts

Interesting, I liked it a lot, Candice. Your rhymes were good, and you worded it very nicely, like you always seem to do. I also enjoyed the fact that there were so many questions, I always enjoy questions being asked in poems. Good job, Candice.
