Haha I have to agree, great use here... my clever little personifier! I guess, to me, this echoed a bit of what growing up feels like, when optimism seems to fade and only comes in my fleeting dreams at night, and then come morning it's back to reality and life. Terrible it is this way isn't it? Anyway, very well portrayed... I still envy the way you can do that!

This reminds me of being drunk and thinking things will be wonderful, only to wake up the next morning and forget what it was you were excited about. Which, to a member of the "whiskey only" club such as myself, happens quite frequently.

The title again caught my attention…the remainder of content and I thought “wow!” The first stanza for me was the best. A real punch to the face (not to be silly) it’s a great write.
