Reach out for me
for I am waiting in the wings,
expecting your outstretched hand
that I would grasp-
over the surliest of seas
and the most rugged of land

my arrowheads have been tipped
in a love that came before,
no longer blunted
and no longer keen,
simply aimed skywards
to the heavens that are thee,

I would sprout wings,
defy gravity if need be,
reign in the clouds
to offset airstream
just for you and me,

Be what I’m not sure of
but a hand held in mine,
the tincture of an octave
a poem that need not rhyme,
we’ll settle into a melody,
with notes little more than verbiage,
like an hour to endless time,

and time is what we have now
time to wait, time to squander,
time to sheaf through unmade memories
and hearts, like ours, to wander,

So when your fingertips tingle
and spring, like morning rain,
I’ll be there to guide them,
just as dew drops shed their weight,

This is amazing. I'm reading your poetry after so many days and this makes me realize exactly what I have been missing. I love the emotional sweetness of this one... the way you have described the guy waiting for her with full confidence that she will come to him. The description of his love is truly beautiful. Your flow is impeccable as usual.

This stanza is terrific! And the parts succeeding that... and the ones preceding that. Hehe, can you tell I love it?

I noticed the comma as well.. but I didn't dislike it, for me it seemed like it was there for a reason, like you had more to say but you didn't, you stopped open ended, like you had more to say to the person... or I'm crazy cause that all just popped in my head that moment but whatever. Chris, this was beautiful through and through, like Ricks signature picture, it was being said through eye contact, it felt, for me, cause I'm weird. Like it was running through ones mind and the other could read it in he others eyes... it was "soulful" as it says below, it made me really think. I also enjoyed there was not one period, it went on and on, which was nice, and the rhymes went through stanzas... at one point you continued the rhyme in the next stanza and that seemed to make it flow so damn good. Amazing job Chris.
